Maybe the reason he was looking all handsome was for you. Now that you are gone, he has no reason to take care of himself. You say he took you for granted but maybe you where always passive aggressive and withholding. If he was really into flirting with other girls wouldn't he have just as much reason to look good for them now. Or maybe my experience with heartbreak is mine alone and he really was a d-bag. My guess is He would lose the weight and shave for you in a heartbeat. I know I would for my old flame.
As an American Living in Germany since 2015 that moved there because they had their heart broken and felt like there was nothing left in the world for them. I've mostly spent the last two years freezing out in the woods, and haven't had a lot of time to condition my hair. I recently looked at the lady it didn't work out with's facebook page, and saw a picture that just made me feel grateful such a beauty existed. One that cannot wither but only be tampered with wisdom as the years go by and increase. Being cold and miserable and alone with your thoughts in Germany is easy when you have if only for a short while known such a beauty. Your Ex may be going through something similar, but your feelings are normal.
