It's not admirable and kinda shallow, but I think it's understandable, since it helps you accept that what happened was for the best.
But maybe I'm sympathetic because I've done something similar. A couple years ago, I looked up the Facebook profile of the woman I married when I was 20. In terms of appearance, the years have been fairly kind to her, but everything else there confirmed that divorcing her had been absolutely the right decision. She's still as ignorant and bigoted as I remembered her being, and she's turned into a total fruitcake over the decades since we last spoke.
