I'm burning way above average calories and still getting fat...?

So I eat 2 smallish sugar waffles, an oreo snack pack and a large portion of chocolate cereal every day and apparently burn around 3000 calories on days when I'm working... is it normal that I'm still putting on weight? I mean, 3000 calories is a lot to burn, right?

I'm not in any position to say cut out sugar since my bony ass eats way too much of it, but perhaps you should try that? Whenever I go cold turkey on the sugar(while still eating a ridiculous amount), I wind up 5-10 pounds lighter in a week and a half.

      This.

It bewilders me how people still don't understand that the composition of the calories is also important...it's just...fuckin...obvious.

I think this post has to be taking the piss, though.

Sort of right, sugar has a higher caloric density than just about any other nutrient. So essentially, for how little it fills you up, it packs a lot of calories. There is nothing automatically bad about sugar, it is just when you eat it, you have to eat much less calories of everything else to maintain energy balance for weight maintinence, or an energy deficit to lose weight. So it will be much easier to lose weight without sugar.

Slow down mate, I am a personal trainer so listen up. There is no way in hell you are burning 3000 calories specifically from working. I am 6'4" 245 pounds and life weights every fucking day, and I would barely lose weight on that. Unless you have a significant amount of muscle mass from years of training, there is no way you burn 3000 calories. You needto go lower calorie, whoever said you burn 3000 a day is wrong. I know of 220 pound professional strength athletes that don't lose weight unless they get below 3000. And these guys lift 600 to 700 pounds on the regular. You need lower calories, trust me. I can provide more tips on how to do that upon request. Trust me thorough mate, I have had many clients say the same thing.

I'm game. Know of any solid good workouts for women without going to a gym? I work 2 full time jobs so taking time to go to a gym isn't happening

Hmmm... no gym is a limitation if muscle mass is a goal of yours. However, for health purposes, jogging would be a good option. My question for you would be what type of jobs do you work? If you work 40 hours a week on a physically intensive job, than increasing activity level is not a priority. In terms of improving your diet, you have many options. The simplest recommendation I can give you, is eat more protein and more vegatables.

    • I only got the 3000 figure from my fitbit...
I walk about 15,000 steps on working days and clock up about 10km of distance.
My job requires a lot of fast walking, jumping around and running up and down stairs.
I am normally stressed for a large portion of the day.
I weigh between 74 and 75 kilos and am female... I thought that 3000 calories per day was the average daily calorie burn for moderately active men anyway... or have I got that wrong?

      Is 3000 calories still impossible?

I suppose impossible maybe isn't the right word, but I doubt it. Either way, if you are not lowering weight, you need to lose calories. If you are in a calorie deficit, BY DEFINITION, you will be losing weight. So if the weight is not coming off, you need lower calories.

Don't you ever eat any fruit or vegetables? Or grains and pulses?

Im not a doctor or nutritionist so im not on expert to give this kind of advice. But I did the keto diet myself and lost like 30 pounds in a month. I eat highfat foods but no carbs. Thats no fruit no bread no oats. I eat bacon, broccoli dipped in extra virgin olive oil, eggs, steak, burger patties all day and lose weight. Its the only diet I've ever enjoyed.
