I think it's normal to be scared. You say that they are "religious", then maybe you should wait until you've moved out or have some kind of back up. I've read many stories where young people came out to their families and were kicked out or nearly beaten to death. In terms of my sexuality, some of my friends know but none of my family knows. Most of my family is religious so god only knows what would happen if I ever came out to them... It's a shame that a large part of society is homophobic and what not. You'd think that by now society would have evolved beyond such stupidity.
