  • Hello there!

I'm a professional contemporary fiction author (it's my job) and I recommend using a laptop, Macbook®, Apple Macintosh®, home computer or other type of electronic doohickey with a word processor - if you're with Microsoft, word is my personal favourite).

I carry a hand-held digital Olympus recorder in my bag, for documenting interesting things whilst out and about; for interview transcripts; sudden inspiration (too good to miss!) and for recording conversations as a key to honing fabulous diaglogue.

And having a little spiral-bound notebook handy (I have millions of the things - by my bed, on my desk, in my bag, you name it!) to capture that 'emergency' prose!

So to wind it all off, I'd suggest writing the majority of your magnum opus on a word processor - not forgetting notebooks for any of that extra magic you happen to conjure up!

Before I go - I offer advice and help for writers free of charge, a little pick-me-up when you need a bit of outside inspiration.
All you need to do to get started is reply! I'd be more than happy to help you from there, my friend!

    _____ _________, contemporary fiction author.

    Good luck!

    xx
