As everyone's pretty much said, go slow and easy, and take time to let things heat up to a boil. Foreplay (especially on your bits) will help tremendously with comfort, but, when it comes down to it, just let things go as they will & enjoy each other. The first time is just awkward silly magic, and that's how it's supposed to be.
