Sure its normal. I have decided not to do such things yet and I've been quite proud of that but I don't look down on people who have AND I still would given the right situation and person. I just always see people who have regretted it with the wrong person and the guy or girl turned out to be a bad person or dangerous even and have a very hard time getting rid of them or produced a kid that they can hardly or ever see. You don't "have" to let your friend know anyway, the only thing that will do is run the risk of her judging like you said or constantly thinking about it. Of course she could be a good friend and not judge but friends don't have to know completely everything. From what it sounds like, this guy is a good find also, nice job!
