Well, for the first while nobody had a clue we liked each other, but now that people do, we are getting a lot of ridicule, and he is getting the brunt of it. He is enduring and risking a lot, and that convinces me he really loves me. He tells me everything, and I know for a fact that he has not slept with anyone else since we started our relationship. For him, he can never see sex as a light thing, but says he views it a deep, enduring commitment. He pretty much keeps to himself a lot, and is depressed much of the time over his divorce, lack of a good job, etc. But when he is around me he is the most devoted, humorous, passionate, romantic, loving person I know. I didn't know it was possible for two people to be as in love as we are. It makes us not care about any obstacles, or what people think.
In short, if everybody around knows about your relationship, If you both are committed to each other, If criticism does not affect your relationship, if you both enjoy being with each other, if either of you do not care about any obstacles and what people think, if sex is not the thing..
Well keep going i dont feel anything wrong but it sounds lovely. As it sounds the guy needs support now and you are the one providing it to thim.
Hope the ex-wife does not returns to his mind and his children if he has.
But i would like to tell you about my friend even she was madly in love with her bf as i told you about her and she wanted to be with her all her life even though he was married and had kids, just after 2 years when the guy was bored from her, He left her and now she has a tag on her of Slut.
I dont wish this to happen to you.
But still i dont find it normal and i dont believe it shall last as time goes on the thoughts and feelings will change you shall see a new world and realize it yourself.

I am so sorry about your friend. I really do feel for her deeply, because the word gets out, the more I know people assume me to be a desperate slut, and him a cradle-robber. However, I must say that I, unlike your friend, would refuse to ever be with someone who is married. I still believe marriage is a holy covenant, which I mean to keep, and do not wish to aid others in violating. I am not passing judgement on your friend though, and still sympathize with her deeply. It is sad that there are so many guys like that in our world.
You seem like a wise, caring, understanding, and knowledgeable person. I certainly hope you have found that special someone who you love, and who loves you for being the lovely person that you are.
