Hi, I'm a Turkish guy (like it matters - stupid way to start a response by the way) and do you have any idea how stupid is your question is?

I'm not even arguing about how racist it is, but you've got to understand that it is like asking "I love spanish man am I normal? I love chinese men am I normal? and so on...

And the responses... We are talking about human beings from a certain nationality, not dogs in general. Everybody, literally every individual is different from eachother. You can't just judge Turkish men in general by something you exprienced in your summer trip.

I have been with Turkish man for 3 years. He was aggressive, controlling and brutal. He bullied me.Working all the time to send all his money to Turkey. He hated birthdays,Christmas,Valentine days, cinema, holidays, going out.He was shouting at me all the time.I nearly lost my health.I was scared of him.One minute he was so loving and the next he was so aggressive. I met him in Uk.He was living in my town. When we started to see each other he was very charming but that didn't last long.I left him as he was making me ill.Now it will take long time before I decided to have another relationship. And never with the Turkish man.The look or brown eyes its not that important. The character what I am going to look for not a look.I must be crazy to stay with him all this years......Stay away from the Turkish man!!!!

Hi, I'm Naida from Sarajevo(Bosnia and Herzwegowina) part of Balkan.. I didn't know how to reply to this girl who asks is she normal, but I hope she will see my comment here. Turkish men are adorable, really. They are carring, friendly and they are family types.. You will probably hear bad expirienses from the girls that was on the South because there man can be inpolite, but that doesn't mean that all Turkish guys are inpolite.. They like when a girl is different from their turkish women for example if you have white tane, blue eyes, blond hair, they will like you.. And they will probably think that you are easy because Turkey is very visited by Russian girls and 90% of them is easy.. But don't worry that's very normal, you have idiots in every culture, I love Turkish guys too and Turkey and their langague.. Everything.. Turkiye seni seviyorum :)

      I Hope I helped

Im dating a very beautiful Turkish man. And I can only tell you from what I experience. Turkish men are very Romantic, Gentle, Kind and thoughtful. On the other side they like a women to be somewhat aggressive not like a man but as a women should. They enjoy aggressive love making a women who is strong in her own way a fighter. Turkish men are Born warriors and they die warriors and they expect a women to be as strong they do not enjoy weak women. Turkish men are not really controlling they just prefer you dont put yourself out there. Like dont dress to sexy to get another mans attention. Its perfectly okay to do it for your own man but dont dress overly sexy to get attention from other men then they will become jealous. If you can respect your Turkish man, Treat him as if he is your king he will treat you as a Queen. They are PERFECT Friends & Lovers. Good Luck!!

Hii, just came across your post. and i'm exactly the same. I love turkish guys. The tan, accent, their charm.. you name it :P

I've also had a holiday romance with a waitor who worked in the hotel i stayed at, and i thought everything was great until i found out he was cheating, and yet he still tryed to deny it.
But now ive met another turk, he seems really genuine and not like other turks i have gotten to know. He is currently waiting for his visa to go through so he can come over to england to go to university. He says he really likes me and would love to meet me one day. So i agree with hazeltopping when saying the intelligent and sensible type of turks are the oness :)

Their charm can get them anywhere so I think they take advantage of this... so be careful unless you just want to have a good time and feel like someone cares about you (ignoring they do the same for 2 or 3 more lol)

I've recently started dating a Turkish exchange student at my school. He is so gorgeous that I can't believe he's actually attracted to me and we talk for hours and hours on end. He's so gentle and sensual and pays attention to what I say. I guess I could also say that we do have a natural chemistry. But aside from that, he is always wanting to spend time with me and he doesn't blow me off to watch football with friends or play video games. Plus he enjoys taking me out to dinner (which is rare to find in a guy in college).

In fact, he told me that he's an atheist and actually wants to move to America someday. He doesn't want to marry a virgin Turkish girl. Or any virgin for the matter. Considering that I'm in college, our relationship isn't going to go to the next level but I'm going to miss him so much when he leaves and I wish him the best. He has been nothing but kind and genuine to me. And I'm not one to trust men easily either.

I don't necessarily think it's a nationality thing; there are lots of men who are controlling over their women- they aren't Turkish.
From my experience Turkish men are very sweet (but rather cheesy when it comes to romance- classic roses, silly pick up lines- but it really just adds to their cuteness and charm).
Me and my Turkish man are getting married soon- I can't wait! I love him so much, I've had nothing but good times with him. Tall, dark and handsome- not to mention sexy and romantic. He surprises me with gifts and love notes everyday.<3 I'd say it's pretty normal to be attracted to Turkish men, heehee.<3

    Hi,

I am a Turkish man. I think, asking that question isn't that normal. Why should be loving Turkish guys not normal? Of course there are lots of jerks between us, near to good men. You have to pick the right man. He can be Turkish, British, Arab, Japanese...

Only try to find someone, not ignorant. And try to understand that, being jealous about the person you love is normal and cute. Because yes, we would like our women to pay attention to their clothes. Personally, i would be happy to see my girl wearing respectful clothes. That's all.

If you are young, don't rely on only your feelings. Use your logic as well.

    And good luck.

well, i am a turkish man, ive been traveling around the world since i was like, 15. ive seen enough people from different nations to comment on this. Turkish men are romantic, emotional, macho and smart. they might not give you the greeting you wish but he will run for you if you take one step towards them. "they will have sex with western girls but marry Turkish" is(pardon me for this expression) bullsh.t Turkish people look up to western cultures, and having a western girl as a wife is usually something to brag about for us. but education makes a HUGE difference in their attitude of course. i read something here which fits %100 : "they want you to treat them like king, and if you do, they will treat you like queen" cheers!

The problem with certain Turkish guys is that they are so used to getting what they want from English girls, whose fault do you think that is - they end up thinking all girls are the same.

They know how to sweet talk believe me, Ive been going there 6 years, and they learn this early on from books, "you have beautiful eyes" etc. You have to sort the wheat from the chaffe and thats not easy - dont get sucked in by the sweet words or the attention, I know its easy to do. Sit and watch how they operate I have done for years, it will open your eyes, and you will see who are the genuine ones and who arent. Dont make yourself to readily available to them, like most girls do.

I have been saying this a lot around here lately but who's to say your soulmate is in the same country/ethnicity as you? That's as arbitrary as saying you can only be with a curly haired person. It's natural to be attracted to people, it's normal to have preferences.

I would say anybody can fall in love with anybody in the world. It is a choice made individually.
As for Turkish men, education makes a lot of difference. You can really divide them into well-educated and non-educated really. It is somewhat extreme. Not all Turkish are tanned skinned or dark eyed, dark haired but these are majority. Uneducated ones are somewhat aggressive and macho, but educated ones are mostly romantic and caring. The first thing you have which uneducated ones go after will be your body while educated ones try to win your emotions. They (all of them) don't avoid using brute force on the other men that try to get near you because of their jealousy over you. The reason of their jealousy is said to be based on their love for you, nothing else. Uneducated ones are mostly talkative while educated ones give priority to listening to you first. You probably cannot find educated ones if you come to Turkey only for holidays lasting a few weeks. At holidays you will most encounter the uneducated ones who will be after your body. You can find educated ones in universities in your own country from exchange or graduate students. But they are nearly the most elite ones of educated ones that you cannot compare them with the educated ones of your own country. They are mostly smart and care more about feelings of a woman. They will even not try to have sex with you before a few months/years. They are mostly patient and wait for you to surrender emotionally (I mean to fall for them). The only thing that makes them get cold with you will be your lusting over other men. They never forgive this. And they are mostly suffer from obsession of aiming for a virgin girl. They think of this as a necessity for pure love. Well they seem to be mostly virgins themselves. So there seems to be nothing that will be inequal.
These are actually the statements of my turkish boyfriend. He considers himself in the educated group. And by the way they don't care about your religion if and only if you believe in the God. I came from a family that is a fanatic catholic. I meet my boyfriend at the university library. He says he is fond of my eyes and blonde hair. I don't know if it is the cause or not but he really seems to have fallen for me after the confirmation of my virginity after dating for about three months. It is somewhat embarrassing. But I am extremely happy with being near him. It feels safe and warm. There have been nobody who really struggles to understand me and my needs before him. For his physical features, he is a year older and a bit taller than me, has brown hair, white skin and green eyes, and a slightly muscular body (clear under a tshirt). He says these are rare for Turkish men. His occupation is in the engineering field and he expects me to become a teacher. We will marry in a four months time after his graduation.

1 st of all congs and good luck. education just does not work for Turks only. What do you call an uneducated American person in English? Ignorent or should I say redneck?
And ignorency isnt just smt particular for Turkish men right? The ignorent Americans I've ever met in the USA highly exceed the number of ignorent Turks that I've ever met in Turkey. So should I say Turks are more educated? Hell no! Generalization is always wrong including this one..

As a Turkish, a little upset about it in that article. you can find everything you're looking for in a man, some may be overwhelmed at times, but love, care, honesty, fun, everything is open to the properties we have in our house. If you ever really loved a woman of Turkish men is not unhappy.

Hiya! There is a certain TYPE of turkish guy which is usually the ones that have a ghetto style, the hoodies and all.
Those types are usually possesive over their girls and the jealous type. I feel like an idiot who is generalising... but boy! ive met so many, and they havent proven me wrong.

The way they see it is... "we fuck white girls, and marry turkish girls"
    pretty sad right?
and dont get too excited when they start talking like they just came out an old black and white movie, with all the cheesy talking lol in turkish its pretty normal to talk like that, and it sounds better... but when they try it in english... it just sounds so cheesy... and most girls fall for it lol
I like the same sorta guys, but try and go for the educated type, and the sensible type of turkish guy. im sure they wont disappoint, by all means!

Despite what you think not many Turkish men like Turkish women because they want all the attention all of the time, and Im told by quite a few Turkish men that they can be boring. You all have to get in your head that the Turkish guys you are all talking about, most of you, are guys you meet on VACATION. They aren't dumbass,' they will try to milk you for everything you got. Most of Turkey's population is Sunni Muslim and poor!!! I'm Turkish and a male, I know how they think. They're just like any other guys, except they have nothing to lose and everything to gain in anyway they can. This is not necessarily because they're all jerks in the sense that you women think, instead, they're just young men born into poverty that are just trying to make it out of the ghetto or their current predicament. Yeah, Turkey seems like a very nice place from inside your hotel room and within the resorts, and on tour buses; but what about for the people that actually live there watching these Europeans everyday enjoying themselves more than the natives of that country. Think about their situation before you go making judgments about other people.

Just cause your Muslim dont make Muslim men aggressive.Does Christian mean beat their wifes? I bet a few do but not all Christian men do. Why say if your Muslim do. Doesn't make sense. Islam is a religion not a nationality.

I am engaged to a Turkish man so I know them. If your friend was abused by a Turkish Muslim man she probably deserved it. She probably flirting and dressing in ways to make her turkish man jelouse. They are Jelouse because stupid women who do not know how to treat a man. So yea act like a lady and you get treated with one. You have casual sex with One your gonna get treated like crap and thrown around. IM not saying its okay to be abuse but really. Watch how you act thats how they will treat you.

      Show respect for yourself ladies.

Hi i am Turkish boy too. We care too much our wifes/friends because other kurdish-rude-pervert people may hurt or make them sad. We r not saying you cover your everywhere. Just wear something which is not hot. So they don't look your boobs or ass (Bad man will touch or slap too ) . İf something happens like that another good Turkish people will help you or your Turkish friend/husband. So if you find a good turkish man and not do/wear hot things outside. He doesnt get angry. When you r dating he may give lot of much gifts and after your gifts get lower because his money gets less so he couldnt buy. İn Türkiye gifts or another things are too expensive not like Europe or America. think we dont get lots of money so we couldnt buy much more things but his love is never finishes for you. Sorry for my bad english writing. Summary is if you find real Turkish man you can live with love forever but if you get a wrong man in Türkiye just divorce it and find another. Ohh i will say sth too. When you marrie with turkish man just go America or Europe ;)

    Dear Sufferer,

We suffer together and in suffering is our cure!!

Turkish men are adorable! Especially Mountain Turks who drive cabs. Istanbul ones are kind of ok - what am I saying, they are stellar both as companions for a walk on a beach, to discuss a good movie, or recipes, or as passionate and assertive lovers.

But I find Kayseri taxi drivers are better - bigger (if u c what I mean!!) - but more hairy, too, with great big beards - and strict about professional ethics.

But OMG, if you happen, like me, to be really rather young-looking, and somewhat androgynous (well, male, I guess, is optimal, but not too old, you know. They loooooove to mentor) then they are Star Men!!!

In DC there is a club that was formed by a group of super-cool Turkish pals - Mountain and Regular - mainly cabbies but a couple of lawyers from DC and Maryland and they like to sit, chat, watch a floor-show, do sudoko. And Party a little.

Non-members are extremely welcome, according to Gokhan Bey of Dogan Engineering in the town I call Angoraaaah, because it miaows and it purrs if you stroke it!

They have no liquor license, so underage is no problem. Actually, I kinda get the feeling it is almost preferred.

They are v v super-chivalrous (Knights of the Road) so male and trans preferred as they like sometimes to 'cuss' and hate to offend LADIES.

Dancing (classes and recreational) every Tuesday morning and all night Thursday till morning prayer. Don't take a beard clipper! If you do, keep it away from their backs. They get weird if you do that. Poetry contributions welcome.

    Otherwise great guys. THE BEST.

So I asked where he was from and then he told me. I noticed we was only getting pizzas w/o meat. I offered to make him any pizza he wanted. He got so happy and said Vegetarian pizza. I'm a Turkish girl and I think Turkish men are quite humorous and easy to get along. they're usually very jealous of their girlfriends and I think this side of them is very cute, cuz they don't want any other man to touch their beloved. They are protective, if someone harasses you they become agressive and beat the shit out of the one who did it xd but I'm talking generally, so of course there can be people that will approach you with bad intentions. but obviously this things depends on the person's character so there's no guarantee to it

Hey there. Firstly I want to thank everyone that has written on here. I went to Turkey for the first time A month ago I had no intentions of any sort of holiday romance and ended up meeting a great stunning guy with a good job just over the road from where we stayed, he also new all the staff at my hotel who were also lovely people. we swapped travel stories and pictures over a few drinks. And after a couple of meetings. He invited me to his apartment and he treated me like an absolute princess. better than any man at home. he's 28 im 29 and we get on great. I ended up staying there for the rest of my holiday. Hes now invited me over for a week and I told him I'd give him money for letting me stay because it was only fair and he would not here a word of it. as he'll be working during the day he's organised stuff for me to do. We chat everyday and he doesn't try to hide me away. Nothing may come of it but this is the way dating should be. 36 days and counting :) xx

If a Turkish guy is educated, he knows what to do and behaves logically. But there are a lot of immigrants which immigrate from the village to big city in Turkey. Some of them finish high school and university and get cultured, but some of them don't educate and wander about the streets. You can understand it if you see these 2 different characters, because people who characterized like my sentences are everywhere in the world but there can be little more because of our population :)

Ah, the most important thing is of course the education. I suppose if you are wise enough to google it before expereince it, you can tell a person if he's well mannered or not. I get mad when some jerks treat these girls like a piece of meat. For me it's more important to earn the feelings of the woman I desire than her body. A real man should respect her woman and make her feel special.

    Hello there,

As far as I observe, there is a quite interesting discussion here. I am a Turkish guy as well and I feel I could say a few words about my experiences and maybe talk about a few socialogical observations.

Despite being a little bit racist, I can perfectly understand why some girls are asking themself "Am I normal for loving Turkish men?" question. It's all about possible bad experiences they hear about. Of course, some of them are accurate. But isn't it accurate for other people with different passports? Hell yes.

The main reason of doubts is the religion, let's face it. When I met a girl in Europe and she learns about my nationality, the inevitable question is generally the same. "Are you all forcing your women to wear scarves?" You would be amazed how some girls are clueless about it because of the false image created by religious Muslims they see in their country, which is understandable.

First of all, if you are really wondering a Turkish guy, those holiday resorts are not the right place to find one. If you are there and looking for a quickie, it's enough to just stand up and wait a few seconds. I try to avoid southern coasts of Antalya (which is the most popular holiday choice for tourists) in my vacations because of this degenerated environment. Don't get me wrong, I am far from a conservative person and definitely not religious. It's very ugly to see every waiter, animator or hotel staff trying to get laid with every breathing female human being they see, from 15yo underage girls to 50yo women. It's just pathetic. I suppose girls are falling to this endless, sticky and persistent flirt attempts. It really disgusts me seeing this mansluts who are ready to fuck anything that breaths and every year more decent people are choosing to stay away from those resorts.

What I'm saying is be careful unless you are looking for a quickie. If you really like a guy who is showing interest to you, try the oldest trick in the book before sleeping with him. Ask your girlfriend to flirt with him and see what happens in order to be sure if you really wonder he is really into you or he is just another manslut.

This is partly because of general Turkish family values. Despite Western cities are getting more and more open-minded, Eastern is still conservative and sex is still partly a taboo among teens growing up. While an important rate of Turkish girls still believe in virginity until marriage in East, most of educated independent Turkish girls are choosy, caring about what friends & society thinks about their partner and as a result, they are looking for educational and financial background in men. So like water searching its way, these holiday resorts are the perfect destination for financially struggling and sex-hungry guys who are looking to spend the summer to earn some money and get laid.

I read some jealousy stories above which I hear all the time from girls I met whom had experiences with Turkish guys. The reason of the jealousy is mainly these guys are aware of the things I described above. It's not like they don't trust you. They don't trust other men. Plain and simple.

Let me tell you a story of mine. Once I met a very beautiful girl during my holiday. We started to wine and dine, etc. She was Turkish but raised and born in Australia. So her Turkish is pretty bad and we were speaking English all the time. While we were talking and walking through the restaurants, I heard very disgusting words from our behind about my girlfriend from a waiter, a protype I described earlier. He thought we were tourists just because we were speaking English and it was a normal thing for him. At least he was trying to explain that while I was kicking the shit out of him. (Turkish Men 101 - Do not disrespect our women anyhow, otherwise you will get your ass kicked.)

What I want to say is, you do not know Turkish men just because you made out with a waiter or two in your summer holiday in Mediterranean. You can't classify people according to their nationality just like that. For example, Eastern European girls are labelled as easy in Turkey because of this awful environment but one Polish and one Ukrainian girl I met in Paris last year was so smart and so intellectual that we talked like hours, and that categorization was just stupid. I also find British girls very attractive because of their accents, it's very peaceful to listen them but the ones I met in London were quite shallow and just wanted to get high and tear my clothes off. That doesn't mean they are all like that.

Same as any country, some are nice, some arent.

I said before I went I would never meet a Turkish Fella and I did!!
Ended up meeting a lovely turk who seems very straight and the sex was definly something Ive never experienced before... very rough!!! but good!!
But he is definly jealous, didnt want me going into Bar Street and watching me like a hawke when I was in his restaurant and giving out to me about my alcohol intake.
He wants to meet me again but if he just calmed down abit, things would be fine.

However, logically this is not possible. As you see, they are not that brainy as well. In addition to all, they view women as kitchen robots and if their partners know more about sex than they do they feel like they are being insulted. But again what i am doing is a generalisation so there might be exceptions.
