I love my cousin. is it normal?

Okay, I've grown up with my cousin all my life. My older sister even used to tease me when I was around 7 about liking my cousin. Now that we're teenagers, we kind of needed someone to confide in, tell them secrets and stories that they couldn't tell anyone else. I'm that person for her, and she's that person for me.

Recently I've discovered that I think I like my cousin... well, more than I should. I've been freaking out over this, thinking that I'm some sort of creep, or that it's just wrong. Is it normal that I feel this way about her?

Btw, I told her about this, and she told me not to worry, but that won't stop me.

And please don't tell me that it's the hormones. Jesus.

Obviously you feel strongly about your cousin... and comfortable talking about it. However, you should be talking to her about your feelings. Pick the appropriate time. Ask her to do things with you... its summer... go swimming (wink, wink), and for a walk or hiking, or just to the mall or movies. Get her interested in you the way you are in her. You never know... the two of you could fall in love, or at the very least have beautiful sex!

    GO FOR IT!!

Don't let a taboo get in the way of love (but if the taboo is going to make your family flip then it's not worth it).

  • Its perfectly fine. While it is often frowned upon, its still love. You cant help but "like" a person if they are atractive and/or kind, even if she's your cousin. Its absolutely ok. Did you know JFK married his second cousin?

There is no right answer for this. It depends on your morals and your beliefs. Personally, I don't find it right, but I am never one to judge.

    Go for it.

You just have to be sure if being with her will make you happy. =)

if you're really tight and love each other like best friends, that's normal. but if you love each other romantically, it's not normal. you're family.

It's your cousin, that is something you should just not think about. Cause It ruined Jerry Lee Lewis lol marrying cousins is not cool dude, and stereotypical of like a mountain man with no other options. Pass on that and find another. Like would you make love to your mom?? Don't make love to her niece.

Normal to feel that way, but not normal if you do anything about it.

Haven't you seen Arrested Development, everyone loved that the cousins loved each other...even when the audience didn't know they were'nt really cousins. You don't choose who you care about... I just don't know how this would be for your family life. Also, there is really nothing good that could come of this. You fall in love and have a romantic relationship...and break up and its forever strange...you fall in love and get married...your family freaks out...I don't think you're crazy, I just think the odds aren't on your side.

  • You are worried whether you can trust yourself around her. So, is she saying not to (ie, she can keep things on the level as cousins)? Or is she saying yes, lets move this to a romantic level?

If the former, then you're OK, but try to control yourself. If the latter, you 2 need to talk, cool it down & maybe not see one another for a bit.

If you crossed the line it likely will stain, complicate or otherwise negatively change your relationship for the worse forever. Is that what you want to throw away? No. You have something special - keep it that way.

  • Don't worry it's normal! :]
    And exactly what Darmin said,
"it's still love, and you can't help but "like" a person if they are attractive and/or kind."
Hope this helped in any sort of odd way!

Better as a FANTASY. trust me.

Loads of people fantasize about out-of-reach-p*ssy! This includes: teachers, neighbours, work colleges, friend's mum, friend's sister, friend's girlfriend, friend's ex-girlfriend, friends, and ofcourse, the infamous related-by-blood cousin!!
The reality is... the naughty taboo factor has blinded you! Even if you weren't related: Just because a chick confides in you doesn't make her 'the one'. Think about it! you could be like me- addicted to blowjobs! If you haven't cummed in her face @least a couple o' times, you will never know if you really love her!!! Is it worth testing it out? YES
Is it worth testing out your cousin? NO... NO...NO..NO...NO...NO...NO

    are you a redneck?! lol

the fact that you grew up together means you are close cousins and that would be a little gross but at the end of the day love is love!!...Royal people used to marry their cousins, it was a common norm among commoners as well. However the only reason for it being illegal today is because of the little selection of genes being passed on to children. Inbreed can give a higher risk of passing on genetic illnesses that runs in the family

the worst thing would be if you both loved each other and felt you would have to keep it a secret, but she seemed to have an open answer, maybe she likes you to...
