It's not money that's the problem, it's the love of money above all else that's the problem.

    • It's the abuse and misuse of money if you ask me.

        • You might find a correlation between love and abuse of money, but I wouldn't consider these identical. Many business leaders work hard being driven by profits. I can't say for sure that they all abuse their power.

I beg to differ, sort of. Rich people and even the upper middle class cockroach type of millionaires LIKE money. They invest carefully to get more of it when they see an undervalued wealth creation opportunity. Greedy criminal minds LOVE money so much that they lie and break laws to get it. They weigh the risk of criminal retribution against potential returns.

When money becomes really EVIL is when poor people that don't understand math try to use it. MATH is the only shield against the eventual ruin of working class people.

              It means PVA = (1-(1+i)^-n)/i

This is also the reason that I've been paying cash for new cars since I since I was 22 years old. Sort of make my car payments to myself in advance of owning my next car.

Money isn't the root of all evil.

Lack of money is actually the root of quite a lot of evil.

Money and love of money are not evil nor the roots of evil in any way, money's perfectly good in every way, therefore loving money's normal.

The full quote is, "LOVE of money is the root of all evil." Money can literally be used to do anything, because money is just the idea of transferable value. Placing money before everything else is the problem, because it devalues things like personal health, relationships, the well being of others and so on. You can enjoy money for what it is, but love is a personal attachment and when things start getting personal people lose their minds.

I'd rather be rich than poor and miserable. They say money can't buy happiness but I beg to differ. If I won the lottery I would be generous with my favorite charities and would not forget my friends.
