I think it depends on how old you are. I believe that you should respect your parents, and at the same time, they should respect you. Your parents should respect your decision, and you should respect what your parents are trying to do for you. It's cliche to say that they know what's best for you, but it is true. This guy you're dating, I'm sure you love him. But unless this guys gonna ask you to marry him, he may not be someone as constant as your parents. If marriage is not the likely course in your relationship, this guy wont last as long as your parents. But I wish you luck :)
