You could talk to a doctor. Sometimes these things have to do with your glands not working propperly.

I don't know ... I'm not a doctor myself. But a friend of mine had that and it was a hormonal problem.

Sure there was. She had to take some medication that countered the effect and now she's fine. But as I said, I'm no doctor. I'd just suggest going to one so you'd get the right treatment if you need it.

After my hot older sister's divorce, she looked that way, too. Was already thin and fit, but, while did have a time period of not eating, I knew she ate a lot at home. Spent tons of time in her apartment with her, and, as she was always a "comfy at home", not much clothing, saw and got my hands and fingers around her thin waist and tummy, yet, she wasn't unhealthy. People would tell her "Eat!", but I knew she was. Damn, one night, we polished off a full pizza, dozen wings, and 6 breadsticks. I knew she wasn't starving herself. Just had an active, on the go lifestyle and fast metabolism...But the people who'd tell her, eat, you're too thin, look anorexic, were wrong..

a friend of mine has that and is a problem with her thyroid, is the gland that controls your metabolism. She eats a lot but just doesn't process much food. I think you should check that. Anyway yes you can build some muscles with gym that is always a good thing to do for your health!

My friend's sister had the same problem and she realised she had the celiac disease, couldn't eat gluten, and when she stopped eating it completely she started to gain weight.

WOW... you really need to educate yourself on exercise. When you "work out"... well, it isn't only to lose weight (fat)... it may be to gain muscle (which is what you need)... or it may be for physical therapy... or just to maintain a certain body weight and/or physical fitness level.

I'm 5ft 6in, and I weight 130. I exercise: Lift weights (low weight-high reps), I run (2 miles, twice a week), and I hike, and swim. Living an active lifestyle keeps my body looking and feeling great!

You need to eat healthy (consult a doctor), work out (consult a fitness trainer) - and get a rock hard, lean, healthy body. Don't just change your diet and expect to gain weight, because it could be fat weight - you need muscle so you're height/weight proportionate (you're close to it anyway).

        • So what ur saying if i burn calories by working out , i would look not so skinny ?

NO. I didn't mention "burning calories". Everyone burns calories - all the time (even when we sleep), and you might always appear skinny. However, if you have a firm, fit, hard body from proper diet and exercise, then you'll look and feel good. I'll keep this simple.

You need to be on a muscle building diet and exercise plan in order to gain and maintain a healthy height-weight proportionate body.

Drink those weight gain smoothies. I had a friend who was underweight and she drank one everyday.

I have the same issue. I'm 6'1 and eat like a pig but I only weigh 160lbs. That's on the low end of normal range but I look skinny as fuck. Protein shakes never worked for me.

I don't think it's normal but it does happen.

I'm confused on what you mean about "protein shakes never work for me". Based on your statement, you assume if you drink a protein shake, then you will gain weight.

Protein shakes are for people who want to gain muscle using a muscle-building exercise routine.

The key thing is to have a proportionate body.

I mean that I have had times in my life where a frequented a gym and drank 2-3 weight gainer shakes a day In addition to regular meals. I didn't gain weight. I've been 155-160 my entire adult life since about age 16. Regardless of what or how much I eat.
