I usually only ask a girl out, or even get her number, if I really like her and I could picture being in a relationship with her. It seems like most guys pursue pretty much any girl if she's attractive enough, maybe because they just want to get laid, or until something better comes along, or it's just their default modus operandi.

But usually before I ask a girl out or get her number I imagine what it would be like going out with her, being in a relationship with her, even breaking up with her, and if it seems like I wouldn't really be into her, or we don't have much in common, I won't even ask her out.

Or sometimes I'll get a girl's number, but because I wasn't REALLY into her, I won't ever call her. It won't even cross my mind, I'll just forget. Is this normal?

    Completely normal. Thats why I havent gone out with a girl yet, theres been no girls that I can picture myself with in the long term.

    yea im with the rest of them, i used to sleep around when i was like 17 18, but im alot different know i only go with someone i care about
