    • What throws me off from it is that all the predictions these scientists made in the 90s never came true. By 2012 it was supposed to be apocalyptic. California and Florida was supposed to be in the ocean. Polar bears extinct. Ice caps melted. When in reality polar bear numbers have increased and the ice caps have grown.

None of the predictions came true. So if they were wrong about that what else were they wrong about?

      • Those were some of the scientific predictions. I remember in 1983 our teacher said something about Cali breaking off and I was looking at it thinking, "That piece of land is not going to just "break off". Anyways -

Let us look at some of the other speculative things that have not come true since ohhh, early 80's (I was there)

In the 1980's, we were all gonna die of AIDS or the USSR would nuke us in world war 3.
IN 1984 they thought the govt would be spying on everyone.
In 1988 there would be the rapture.
In 1992 or 93, they REALLY thought the rapture would occur.
In 2000, well you are old enough to remember that one.
But then 2001 was the REAL millenium and the sky fell...
May of 2011, another rapture... (see a pattern?)
December 21st 2012 was suppose to be another end...
Obama was suppose to be the Anti-christ. No really, people thought that.

ANYways, That is just the ones I have seen.

I wonder though what catastrophes they are trying to scare today's kids with?

      • The internet is an interesting tool.... its full of contradictory information, and its hard to believe anything on the inter5nwt sometimes.

So long as this person looks for scholarly articles, they should find them convincing. I doubt they are looking for such articles however. They are probably reading stuff from places like The Huffington Post....

      • Not simply for not believing in the media. But there’s plenty of information on this and if he’s that stupid to not see it then he’s not worth my time
