I think that there are some people that have a quest to learn more about spiritual things in general and this is because they have been chosen to serve a higher purpose by don’t know it yet. Like you have an intrinsic drive to learn more and explore all avenues before you settle down and realize what your spiritual niche is and begin to pursue a close relationship with God.
