I like to watch exorcisms

Since my teenage years I've always been curious about the topic of demon possession. As a result, over the years, I've read countless online articles about real life demonic possessions and downloaded and read a couple of books about demonology. In the same vein, I've watched most movies about demon possession and exorcisms. But what I find very fascinating are the exorcisms, the more malevolent the demon is, the more interesting.

    • I personally think its 100% a placebo effect. If you genuinely belive you have a demon inside of you, bringing out a priest could fool your mind into actually curing your imaginary demonic possession. Of course the flashy shaking and speaking in tounge could also be apart of the placebo effect where your brain is actively forcing you to act like this, especially when its encouraged by a crowd.

In fact speaking in tounges (Glossolalia) is not actually gibberish as in just random sounds. Its formulated like an actual language without any particular meaning to each of the sylibles. Glossolalia is super interesting if you want to read up on it

      • Fuck that placebo theory. Provided you haven't manipulated me with black magic, (which I believe some Pentecostal pastors use,) then I don't see any reason why my body would convulse or why I would speak 'gibberish' if I genuinely have no evil entity latched on to my spirit to begin with.
