Sexuality exists on a spectrum, you can still prefer women and be not be totally nauseated by the idea of touching other men. Perhaps the taboo element turned you on, and having a female presence there allowed you to embrace that it felt good without going into an existential crisis.
It's awesome that you and your girlfriend are open to alternative sexual experiences. Just make sure there is a lot of communication and that you discuss ground rules that will keep you both happy. I've been with my boyfriend for six years and the last two have been spent in an open relationship. Inviting other people into your bed can work if you can successfully conquer jealousy and any insecurities :)
