Your last statement is very much not true. Although there may be people like OP (unless OP's a troll) most people don't choose to stay in abusive relationships. They're scared to leave due to threats. In my country alone women get out of abusive relationships constantly but continue being harrassed and stalked by their ex with nothing being done about it. Only some actually get granted protected identity or restraining orders because of such things.
Others stay due to being so mentally broken down they don't have the energy to leave and believe they deserve the abuse because their abuser has broken them down so much.
Very offensive and ignorant thing to comment really.
Most people don't enjoy abuse.
