Dogs mouth's are filled with an extreme amount of microbes and bacteria. It is possible to get sick from doing this because there are different bugs in a dog mouth than there are in typical humans. If you would not let a person do it, then you shouldn't let a dog- that is why people think it is weird.

I’d say yes! I do it all the time with my dogs, one even likes sticking her tongue down my throat. HOWEVER, make sure that your dog is healthy, is dewormed regularly, and has all of the proper shots. Also, yes I do know some of the stuff they eat and lick, but think about where we lick some humans at.
