I keep having dreams about my ex

i keep having dreams of my first ex boyfriend. we dated for 8 months when we were 14-15. it’s so weird. we are 20 now, barely talk even tho he has randomly come back into my life for short while then would disappear again. we kinda ended badly. i’m still blocked on his social media even tho he says we’re fine now? it’s just weird. we loved each other and were v intimate even at age 14. i’ve been dating my bf now for almost 2 years. yet i still have dreams about my first ex. quite often. does anyone have any ideas as to why? it’s bugging me

I'm going to say its a 1st impression that last a life time. You may not love him anymore but there something about those days that just take you to that happy place when you are relaxed.

So your subconscious relates those days to him. You must of loved him very much. Good old days that are gone... dammm.

When you have intimacy and love going on at such a young age, you can get a psychological process called "imprinting". Google it up.

If you still dreaming about him, it means he is a little important for you and you don't want to admit it !

Interesting, since I've had 2 lately, total opposite from each other. The first was, like the above suggested, things were great between us, and was probably my mind going back to a happier time. I always said..When we were good, nothing touched us. We had a wall around us that nobody got through.

The second, though, was mostly bad stuff. The yelling, her drinking, the fighting. All the bad stuff that caused the divorce. Maybe my mind was saying, the good was great, but, remember the other part? And happier now that that's long gone?

It's fine to think about those good times, but, reality has to kick in and remind you, as a line in a Billy Joel song says "The good old days weren't always good, tomorrow aint as bad as it seems".
