COUNTESS D!!!!, my long lost friend. What a fucking relief. I thought you got lost wandering in the Australian outback to never be seen again. I have missed you since the day you left. We have had a shortage of high IQ participants for over year. Your subtle insightfulness, and mastery of conceptual reasoning have been sorely missed. Please accept my sincerest welcome back to your old on-line home. Let me know if there's anything you need.
Thankfully, Udi mercifully added a ban feature to the software. When it was working, first thing I did was to become invisible to poor old Mel. Soon, her other objects of hostility did the same. After about a month, Mel actually seemed to be in good spirits, and talks almost exclusively to other women. I love happy endings, especially when the computers do the heavy lifting.
Glad you're enjoying Australia. I loved it down there when I lived in Canberra long ago. So are you close to the ocean?
Hahaha I loved the ponies coming up with the idea of secret Santa so they didn't have to get each other presents!! lol
I'd been watching tons of horror movies trying to find a really good one to show our students on a fright night yesterday and that was the only one that really scared me. Not only the music but the quirky camerawork!! I'm wondering what part of the ending you thought sucked? I wasn't so disappointed.
See! You can't trust those shifty ponies...
I did think sinister was great, SPOILERS AHEAD, and i did like the twist ending that it was the kids, but i found the whole demon bit to be cheesy & it ruined my immersion a kittke. Still a great movie though.
If you haven't seen it yet, i just watched Hereditary. Not for everyone, but i thought it was amazing. Haven't been so scared since i watched chucky as a youngster!
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
Aww, I've got mixed feeling about this one and feel like a lousy Rotten Tomatoes critic wanting to write a review - although theirs were mainly positive, from what I saw. It's such a long film (attention span of a 5-year-old here!) and it takes soooo long to introduce the 'hereditary' aspect of it that it was frustrating. The overgrown, greasy-haired son, cast as a teenager (although he cries and drools pretty well all the way through!) didn't help, he looked college age and that was distracting. The daughter was really creepy but it seemed to me that the character was not explored enough. And the grandma wasn't properly introduced either.
Then other things did make it extremely interesting, like the family not talking about what happened for so long and the tension around that... Also Toni Collette's and Gabriel Byrne's acting! (I'm a fan!)
But then... the mother's work seemed like a knock-off of Synecdoche, New York (have you seen it?). And those naked people! I mean, WUT? Hahahahaha! It was cool to watch and I was in and out of the story, but it wasn't as scary as Sinister was! :D
Nor nearly as good as Get Out!!!
