I just want to hear some stories from people in the military

I was shot in the leg once. It was late September out at camp kanoshi and the smell of sweat and japs lay thick in the jungle. We saw a patrol of monkeys marching through the undergrowth but it was hard to tell what was real with all the K-10 army issue we'd inhaled. Gradually as we came up over the pass we realized we'd landed straight in their trap. Pvt. Johnson was most hurt, he bit a bullet In the buttocks. The sight of the P53's lighting up the trees still gives me the shakes come saturday.

I was in the Navy long ago in the 80's and no wars going on then. Boot camp was mostly hell for me. I was only 100 pounds and all those pushups were tough. But I got to see a lot of the world during deployments. I was on an island in the Indian Ocean called Diego Garcia, which was beautiful. Good luck in the Marines!

I was army myself; light infantry.
Later changed to armor as a microwave tech.
Several tours in the Middle East, long before it was fashionable!

Thank you! And as of now, I'm enlisting active duty five years and three inactive. MY MOS is Aircraft Mechanic, I've already signed for it. I'm about 110lb and have an underweight waiver already. My recent bests: arm hang- 1:28, sit-ups- 90, and mile and a half-11:21

My swimming coach served for decades, and he tells many stories, about how he got his huge scars, etc.

My dad served for 31 years, the number one thing I learned from his stories is military life is crazy.
