I hit my little sister?

I'm two and a half years older than my sister. We hit each other quite a bit when we were younger and even now. Sometimes, we did it for play, but most of the times, it was out of anger.

It was rarely if ever pre-meditated, and no one ever got seriously injured.

I've never abused her, we get into our squabbles and move on.

I've asked my sister before if she forgives me or thinks that I'm a bad person, and she said that she forgave me and wasn't a bad person.

The reason I ask this is because I feel like less of a man by hitting my sister. I feel like there is no redeeming myself. No matter what I do, it will follow me around. My shame.

So, is it normal to have hit your little sister (not often)?

    i have an older sister and we get in mini wars all the time so i think its perfectly normal

    Siblings hit each other; it's a fact of life. I voted "Not Normal", but only because I don't know your age. As late as when she was 18 my sister threw my brother out the window into the rose bushes, but she's almost 30 now, there was a 9 year age gap.

    She feels bad about it now, and I see where you're coming from with that, but seriously; don't.

    Just stop hitting her already, man, and don't fret about it. What you're describing doesn't make you a bad person. = P

    Not really all siblings hit each other. My brother once kicked me in the leg so hard I had a bump on my shin the size of a softball. But then again my brother is evil so by you feeling shame I'd say you are just fine.

    My sister and I used to hit each other when we were kids. Thinking about it today, I feel bad about it too but I was a kid when this happened and kids are like that. Just move on, it was a normal thing to do as a kid.

    I don't think this is normal. You said sometimes it was out of anger. If you keep hitting your sister what if it's gets into a habit? Are you in a relationship? If you are, you should stop hitting her. Because you could start doing it without realising it, and hit your partner.
