  • Same here, I'm from round Newcastle area and if I don't force myself to speak poshly, I end up sounding very Northern (which of course isn't bad at all XD) but I use all sorts of slang words, like "innit" and "wha ar ya doin?"

    I can almost see my Uncle and Aunt's relatives (who seem to think they are posh) thinking I'm stupid.

    But don't hide who you are, if people can't see past an accent, they simply aren't worth your time.

    • Aww, you got lucky with your accent. The Geordie accent has got to be the nicest of all the regional ones. I used to have a teacher from Jesmond and I always used to get her to explain things that I already knew just because I liked hearing her talk.
