I heard a hissing sound then something wet splashed me

I was walking out of my room but as I was about to step out of the door I heard a hiss then water or something splashed my ankle but the side it splashed was facing the wall and there was nothing behind the door.
I searched but there was no snake or anything

    It might be a tsunami or just a really big wave. I like your snake theory but snakes are not invisible unless its a poltersnake. The spirit of a once living viper.
