i go through the same thing. to the point where i start yelling aloud for them to "get the fuck out of my head" i found listening to music helps, especially when they get really loud in a quiet setting.
for some it is normal for others it is not. if you go to a doctor they may give you medication to help quiet them but that only goes half way. and trust me when i say that it's almost better to fight it on your own and not deal with the side effects of the medications that also tear apart you stomach if mixed with anything else. i went about 2 months barely eating because the meds they had had me on tore my insides up so bad i could barely tolorate water without puking my ass off. regardless, talking to a counselor or phycologist might help find a reason why you are dealing with them or what can make them better and what makes them worse. stress can make them worse, just like making mistakes can. doing things that make you feel good about yourself or like you've accomplished something helps quiet them. like running a mile without a break or acing a test. or simply not misplacing anything during the whole day. i'm no doctor, but i do know what it is like to not be able to function with voices screaming at you that you arent worth it and you should just drop dead. i've been hearing it for as long as i can remember and hate knowing there are other people dealing with the same shit. it sucks but it can be delt with. i've actually been almost 2 years medication free. i still hear them but listening to music helps. i always have my iPod with me, no matter what. and meditation also helps. but is difficult when they dont shut up. trust me when i say i know this from experiance. people joke and laugh about it but it's really not funny. especially when you try to get them to stop by doing what they say. DONT DO IT. they will just keep going, cutting may help silence them for a few hours but they do come back. and you're the one left with the scars and pain and if youre like me, you feel worse for listening when it didnt shut them up for good.
i would honestly talk to your family doctor about what to do or who to go see. and only medicate as a last resort because the side effects can be brutal.
