Not too sure where you got your medical information, but scientific studies have shown that long-term total sleep deprivation can cause death. The reason why people say that you can not die from no sleep is because complete absence of sleep over long periods is impossible for humans to achieve (unless they suffer from fatal familial insomnia). It is impossible to go 120 hours without sleep...you just cant do it. I was diagnosed for insomnia six years ago, and since then, have read a lot into it...so, because it is physically impossible to stay awake for 120 hours, after 110 hours you are either going to pass right out, or you are going to...got a better answer?
i Havent slept in 120 hours and my brain still works perfectly!
