I haven't seen sunlight in weeks?

I live in the uk and this time of year we the sun is only out from like 8am to 5pm and the days are still getting shorter.

I quit my job about 6 weeks ago and have been in a bad sleep pattern ever since.

Most days I wake up about 2-3pm and take a few hours to get up and dressed and by the time I leave the house it's dark and so cold that I never go out without a coat and my hood up.

It feels weird being out at that time when to me it's still morning time. All the lights look really bright and clear and it kinda feels like I'm on drugs or something.

Is this normal?

Well it's less than a month to your Winter Solstice and then the days will start to get longer. Happens every year, haven't you noticed?

Sounds like you’re a lazy fucker. You need to get up in the mornings and go job hunting. The next thing, you’ll be on here winning about how hard it is to live on your benefits. When I was down on my luck years ago I waited tables topless for 6 months. Hated every minute of it, all those perverts eyeing me up, but I got on and did what I needed to do to survive. We all have a responsibility in life to do our best to support ourselves and contribute to society so start doing your bit and get a life

It's sad that you felt the need to demean yourself in that way. In civilised countries, its not necessary to be a topless waitress in order to survive.

No reason to whine. Consider becoming an ultimate loser. Drink and whore yourself to an early grave. Marquis de Sade would approve.

Easy to say that when you’re not living below the breadline. I’m in the UK and this was at the height of Margaret Thatchers reign of terror. The woman caused misery and torment to hundreds of thousands of families all over the country. Over 3 million unemployed and the figure going up on a daily basis. There was poverty on an unprecedented scale not seen for decades. My best alternative would have been on my back, but fortunately I never found the necessity to resort to that.

If you’re like me and you prefer going and and doing stuff when it’s night time then it’s normal (: lately I’ve been avoiding going out during the day cos I don’t want to be seen by anyone and I love sneaking out at night but yeh ur going to end up super pale like me :/

As I have pointed out I live in Thailand which, of course, is in the Tropics. Here the Sun rises at 6am. and sets at 6pm, give or take ten minutes all through year.
    Never any shortage of sunshine!

I'd say it's normal for like a weekend but not for weeks.

Why did you quit your job?

    • The only shifts they had available were 6am to 7pm and I live like 5 miles away from it and had to cycle there and back which would have been ok but im staying in my cousin's apartment and couldn't even get any sleep between shifts and the whole thing was just pointless, I was busting my balls and my wages didnt even last the whole week. I applied for the same place again through a different agency, hoping to get on a different shift but they wouldn't take me back because I quit. Im looking for a job but pretty much all the other jobs I could get are like 10 miles away.

Sounds like you need better transportation. I feel for you. I was without a vehicle from January of 2016 until April of 2018.

Yeah it sucks, I was gonna get my driving licence or get an electric bike but that would have taken months. Another problem is not having a permanent address.

That sounds really difficult. So you are couch surfing?

I've been in this position before - it does feel weird to be getting up when it's already dark. The worst part is you never see any daylight if you're going to sleep at 6am or so. It's best to try to go to bed a bit earlier so that you get up when it's light. (BTW, it is still light at 3pm so if you go out as soon as you wake up you can get a good hour of daylight)

Same. I don't work currently and when I have no obligation the next day I sleep in until the afternoon. I'm a night person so even when I get up 7 am everyday I can't fall asleep until 1 or 2 am. Haven't seen sunlight for weeks either but as soon as i'm working again in a few weeks that'll be fixed so i'm not worried lol.
