Yes, normal. I think I was pretty much like you, and I solved my problem trying to be less myself. I know it sounds odd as a suggestion, but be nice & kind with you friends, be some sort of asshole with the girls you'd like to date. If you can do it right, it usually works.
Also, if you have any male friend (not everybody does) ask for advice. Possibly, ask to someone who is successful with women.
I have problems with girls.
