I have no talent. I can't sing, dance, draw. I'm good at most school subjects but that's not a talent. I'm useless. I'm 19 yet I've been no use to anybody at all. I cry every night knowing that I'm not good at anything. I also don't like people telling me that it'll get better over the years and that everyone
has a talent coz if that's so, I would've found my talent after all these years or I would've gotten better at something by now. I've finally realized I've no talent
Talent is basically doing something you're really passionate about, and willing to practice and understand.
"Oh, your teenage daughter has such a talent for drawing!" When realistically, she's been diligently drawing since early childhood for fun, and everyone took notice when her skills were impeccable due to years of practice. Additional to that, she now has excellent control of her hands which sometimes make playing instruments easier. See where I'm going with this? No one is born automatically good at something; and, it never too late to start.
Just think about what are you passionate about? What do you enjoy? If your self-esteem is too low to think about the simple things you may enjoy or want to explore, then work on your building your confidence first before building your talent.
I hate so much when people look at my drawings, oil paintings, pastel art and charcoal art and tell me that they are amazing... then the person goes on by saying "I wish I had your talent". I hate that people think it's a compliment. They make my years and years of fine tuning something sound as if I was just born with the ability to do this.
