I think a good first step would be to put an ad in your local newspaper that says something along the lines of "Guitarist seeking other serious musicians to play with in the vein of blues and classic rock." or something, and see who calls. Try to put together a four or five piece band, because being a one man act can be tough. If the right people call, find a place to rehearse, jam, and see what happens. If it's good, find a manager, start booking shows, and see how well the audience responds and how cool and energetic you look onstage. Eventually, record a demo and send it to record labels. And BTW, when you put your ad in the paper, be sure to also include bands you like. I hope this helps. Don't give up! To be a musician, you need perseverance. Good luck and rock on!
