  • Rather or not this is normal depends on if you have a logical reason for it or if it's just an irrational fear. I have Asperger's (High-functioning autism) and don't like people touching me because sensory issues are a part of my condition. The nervous system of autistic people is different and we are often more (or in rarer cases, less) sensitive to touch and other sensories. Autistic people also get overwhelmed in crowds easily, so I tend to avoid parties where I know this will be a problem. If you can't find any other explanation, maybe getting yourself evaluated for learning and developmental disabilities would be a good idea. There's lots of conditions like Asperger's, Sensory processing disorder, even ADHD, that can cause problems being around other people. You can be smart and still have these conditions too. It wasn't discovered I had Asperger's until I was almost 18 because I was so high-functioning. I'm not saying you're definitely on some sort of spectrum, there are other possibilities, but this is just what your post reminded me of. No matter what the reasoning, remember that it's okay to have boundaries and need your space.
