It's not exactly false info. Monogamy is "The practice or state of being married and sexually active to one person at a time". Humans seek quality in reproduction (this is where attraction comes from), and thus will have no problem being attracted to those with qualities that please them. The scientific evidence supporting human monogamy only goes as far as the upbringing of offspring.
Otherwise monogamy is "something created and imposed by human beings as a way of managing the intersection of political and social affairs".
Reproduction only comes second to survival and that is sometimes questionable seeing parents jumping into fire to save their children.
We are simultaneously design to be attracted to what we think as the most suitable mate but also stick with him for the uprising of the our offspring and thus we "love". We acquired a brain faction different than most mammals, and its one of the many reasons we are so successful as a specie.
