I'm the same way about this question "what are you doing" usually masks some other question or comment. If I'm at my pc and my boyfriend sees me reach for my credit card he say "what are you doing". I am in plain view of him he can SEE what I am doing. If he wants to know what I am going to buy he should ask. I just sometimes take "what are you doing?" as "I don't like what you are doing"
