I hate the holidays

i don't hate Holidays i hate it when a lot of people i hate come to my home and talk about things i don't care!!!!

holidays totally annoy me, i mean whats the point? traditional. boring. and depressing.

One way to help if you hate the holidays: watch NO TV from Thanksgiving until after New Years! Rent movies, or listen to music, read books, go for walks, etc...but NO TV! NO radio! I did this with my family and we baked cookies and did things together...no commercial images to compare our experience to. Remember that those Xmas commercials are often filmed in July, six months previously! It's all fake! Actors acting all Christmas-y in a studio in the summer!

Get into your real experience of life...get your news from reading one paper a day and limit your exposure to all of the crap! Anything that they are offering for sale can be had for much less money, right after the holidays! Don't be sucked in! Enjoy the time off...

I also dislike the holidays. Part of it is that I have a really screwed up family, so the holidays makes me anxious and nervous. It's also the orgy of materialism that seems to surface. I think it's ridiculous to spend money on gifts that are not really needed or necessary. I'm specifically talking about my own screwed up family who spends WAY too much money on gifts for people they actually don't even like. A couple of years ago I decided that I would get small token gifts for the family members I actually like and forget the rest. Didn't help, though - I still hate the holidays. Hate Xmas music, movies, decorations, you name it. Wish I could be comatose through it all.

I hate christmas, especially the annoying overly happy people that won't shut up about the season of giving. But part of my problem is that my best friend died on christmas eve 3 years ago.

I like most holidays, however I do not like the shit head people who make it so commercial. I have never understood why people can't be nice all year round regardless what day it is.

i used to love the holidays so much i think if a bad experience happens to someone around the holidays it hurts them when the holiday's come back. Right now i can't stop thinking about what i went through before.

I hate any relgious holiday. Such a waste of time. Especially christmas, all the materialism makes me sick. So much money, food and materials wasted when people are dying in the world as those celebrating could care less.

My parents divorced 2 years ago and my dad left shortly after New Years so I guess naturally, I hate the fucking holidays. Plus hardly any of the holiday food is healthy either. People eat way too much chocolate, drink way too much hard liquor and then when they get fat they make their resolution to lose weight. Instead of making a resolution to be nice to people or stop being so greedy, the resolutions people come up with are selfish. Towards beauty and vanity. Like our culture doesn't have enough of that already.

i think, sometimes they are a lot of excuses to get out of work and to do a party! :P
but sometimes Holidays r actually old traditions!

The holidays depress me, so commercial, it can never be like how it was.

I think it depends on the person and who they're around. I LOVE the Holidays! And it's not for the prestents or anything, it's being with my family and friends! I LOVE it! It's the only time of the year I am actually truelly happy.
But I think it depends on the person, if you don't have family you like, or can't be with your family or maybe something bad happened to you on the holidays than you may have a different view. Everyone feels different ways about different things, I love it you hate it! That's okay!

i cant stand holidays either, if one day someone asked me what's ur enemy? i will say Holiday.. but dont worry its just mind problem so its normal.

The holidays are disruptive and too much work. However, we laugh alot and have fun. The decorations are beautiful. But soooo much work!

Think you wouldn't hate them if you're spending them with those you really have fun with .. I wait for holidays even before the semester starts =/

I hate them because I am not religious. I like Thanksgiving and that's about it
