Ok so I'm 18 and I graduate from high school in about 3 weeks. I will be going to college 2 months after I graduate. My parents have always been overprotective, so much that I've never been to a school game or function. Somehow they allowed me to date the guy I'm with now when I turned 16. We've been together for 2 years and he asked my dad for my hand, and there was no problem. So we are engaged. We plan to get married after I finish college. Even though my parents agreed to let me get married, they won't let me move out of their house to his house, which by the way is a whole 2 minute walk away. I only have stayed home after I turned 18 to finish high school. And now they are threatening to take my car, which was my 16 birthday present, my phone, that I payed for, and my iPod, which was the only present I asked for my last birthday and christmas combined. So is it normal that I hate my parents. Especially now!

    Kick them in the teeth. Also, if ur 18 they can't make u stay and they can't take ur belongings. If they try call the cops

    my parents are absolutely terrible. im in highschool and i cant use the stove. I cant walk outside, around the block maybe and in the day light and i have to tell them other wise they make a scene. ive never done anything bad, its not a bad negbor hood, they just want me to be cooped up and embarass me. They make me sick. I hate them an aweful lot.

    what you do is as soon as you turn 18 get the title of the car and put it under ur name-as far as ur cell if he paid for it and is paying for the bill he can take it away. as for anything else fuck your parents. they have no power over you. they cannot force you to stay home. my dad di the same shit to me and i told him fuck you and whatever shit happened. im getting married now myself and i have a child and my dad still doesn't let my fiance come over everyday(and we have a child together) wtf seriously. he can't see his baby girl everyday because my dad thinks its wrong for him to come over all the time. fuck i can't wait to get the fk out of here in a month.
    anyways didn't mean to make this about me. my point is you have to stand up or just let them hear the things they want to hear. play them by telling them OKAY SURE I WILL DO THAT(whatever they want you to do) and just don't do it. as soon as you turn 18 by law ur rents cannot make you stay. and when you do move out if they call the cops just like my mother did when she kicked me out then i found a place to live she called the cops (when i was 19yrs old) told them i was missing. and the cop said she isn't missing. she is 19 you cannot call and make a fake lie. next time you will get arrested for calling in a false missing person.
    make the best of it right now and be sure to put the car in ur name as soon as u turn 18. (take it form ur dad and go to the dmv)

    Girrrl u can't let noone control u, and if ur handling bizness and u know u can make it without there help then leave...ur their lil girl and they pribly can't seem to seeur growin up let them take whatever it will be hard but u will get it on ur own if u stay focused

      They are trying to say thy they bought it so I can't have it. And they technically can with my car bucause it has my name and my dads name on the title
