I hate homeless people so much

  • Buy her a sandwich, and quietly ask why she's in the library. Most homeless people just want someone to listen to them, since no one else will. This is shit I would do, and have done.

However, I ran into a few homeless people I dislike, like the ones who get drunk/high all the time and begging for money to support their vices really pisses me off. When I use to work for a Deli, I gave a man a roast beef sandwich I made for myself, since he was begging for money to buy food. When my shift was over and walking to my car, I gave him my food, and he turned it down saying, "Oh... uh... I don't want this." I ask him why, and isn't he hungry, mind you I'm in uniform, so he knows I work at the establishment he's begging in front of. He tells me, "I'm allergic to whatever this is." I'm like... "Roast beef?" And he goes "yeah, I just need money for different foods." Later found out from an older coworker that he's a drunk who begs out there every once in a while.

    • How can you talk to someone when your gag reflex prevents you from getting close to them?

    • Buy the man a beer. I've given drunks money in AA to buy beer because who am I to judge. Perhaps that beer will lead him to what we call a "moment of clarity".

      • But... I'm not the first person to see him. I'm sure previous people have given him money before I was hired, yet he's still there. How many beers does he need to lie for to have a moment of clarity? D:

        Also, you're interesting lol

        • Thanks, you too. Could be one drink, who knows. I once gave a heroin addict a 16 ounce beer and an apple when he was coming down.

He stayed sober and got into treatment. Ultimately he is back using right now but who knows. It may have planted the seed for the future.

Btw this is in the text of AA literature, it's not my novel approach.
