I hate having to repeat myself.

It's the most annoying thing ever to have to say the same thing twice because someone is in the habit of saying "what?" when they heard you perfectly fine.

Is It Normal?

  • Fuck yes. Oh my fucking God I HATE that. Stop saying "what?" if you heard someone perfectly clear!

  • I'm sorry. Can you say that again?

  • Most people who say "what" are usually hard at listening.

  • What was that?

  • What?

  • Far more likely that you are mumbling/not enunciating properly than any sort of spite.

  • Most people just don't pay attention, and it does get aggravating. One of my friends, who visits once in a while after he goes skiing, is like that..Doesn't pay attention to, if I may, a fucking thing..Will ask me the same question 9 times, because he doesn't listen to the answers the first time around or after. Sometimes, no joke..I'll say random stuff to him just to check.."So, work is busy, I'm picking up business, and young girls snow tires, my friend Alice lives in Wonderland.." Just to test him.

I'd suggest your own rule: repeat yourself once, and that's it. Then tell the person, I told you twice already. No more, start paying attention.
