I hate going to see my psychiatrist

i've never asked to see a councelor/therapist/psychiatrist. but, i've been forced into it since i was twelve.

one of the terms of my release from the mental hospital was to get counceling. i have to go see this 60 year old fat black bitch who can in no way whatsoever relate to my experiences/emotions.

i've never had a positive experience with anybody.

any advice on finding somebody that you might actually like or get some good advice from?

How long are you obligated to see this person? If you can afford it, why don't you move to another country?

I hate mine too. I only go for ADD med checks. It costs $100. She is cold and unfriendly. I ran into her in the grocery store and she barely spoke to me. She belittles every feeling or concern that I have.

It's an confidentiality issue- when she didn't speak to you. It is a way to protect the client as there can be a lot of stigma against those they seek mental health services. Sometimes, clients see their doctors in secret. If their family, friends, etc. knew, sometimes it can have disastrous and negative effects on the client.

Psychiatrists are only useful to those who are naive enough to think that their psychiatrists actually give a rats ass about their feelings.

    Simply put.

Dump the biatch. It works for some, but it aint working for you, so find someone else or find another way. But don't deal with someone you aren't comfortable with or can't relate to on any level whatsoever.

Yes, go to your GP and they can refer you to someone :) Don't feel obliged to keep going to your therapist if you don't feel that you are benefiting from it. It can take a while to find someone that you feel comfortable and can trust so don't stress too much! I don't know what it is exactly that you are dealing with but I am sure with the right help things will get better :D

    Good luck and take care!

hi, go to your doctor (GP) If he/she is good and ask them to put you on to someone good (most doctor have a list and know whos who) why do they make you go?

Most of them are there for a fat paycheck I guess, or just for an easy job. Don't go. I doubt anything's really wrong with you. I'm bad at advice...
