I hate gen z

Millennial here... you know, when I was in college (2008-2012) I don’t remember there being an issues with free speech on campus, or universities censoring comedians and people getting peeved off about everything. On the other side of the political spectrum, I don’t remember all these incel alt-right idiots as well. But who gets blamed for all this shit? Millennials... meanwhile Gen Z gets praised for being different. No you fuckwads, all that shit that you complain about millenials for doing, being hypersensitive or afraid to talk to people, the political extremism on both sides? That’s Gen Z. Forgive me for making sweeping generalizations, but I’ve had enough of my generation taking shit for everything these little assholes do. Sure, we got on social media around high school. But all these kids that have grown up on social media their whole life and don’t know how to communicate with each other? It’s Gen Z, buddy boy.

Milennials, Gen X, Y, Z...everyone claims to be of a different generation because their birthdays are a fucking month apart. Aren't we all just so special. Oow my birthday is in May, I'm of the Psudo-erudite Pretentious Twit generation. Don't hurt me I'm sensitive.

Hating an entire generation for whatever reason is just ridiculous.

As a baby boomer I get furious when I'm stereotyped as privileged and wealthy and have had it easy, none of which is true of me or very many others of my generation. Then there's the other inaccurate stereotype that we were all radical activists in the 70's: I was but most people of my age weren't.

gen z here. all the generations differ from each other in many ways, even gen z and millenials, who are only a decade or so apart in age. i dislike my generation for many reasons, chief among them being the fact that most of my peers are as dense as bricks or overly sensitive and privileged. a lot of gen z kids don't realise how fortunate we are to have things like the internet, and instead dedicate the majority of their time criticising the government, economy, etc. though there are some irrefutable problems with the world-- it's a dumpster fire-- we should be trying to find solutions to them rather them complaining aimlessly about it, and fix the broken world left to us by earlier generations.

additionally, i don't understand the hatred between gen z'ers and millennials, because we're not that different. gen x'ers and baby boomers hate us both and like to blame us for everything wrong with the world, when we're far too young to have actually done anything

Cozmo had a point. It seems like every month is some other "generation".

Why millenials catch all the shit, who knows. Of course people blame the baby boomers for the world being financially broke.

NO one ever talk about Generation X though which is where I am.

Cause we were more rotten than any generation so far. I hope.

But yeah, if our kids did the things we did, we would be proud or maybe horrified.

Generation Z here (1995 to 2015) the problems you are describing sound more like millenial parents altering thier children's paths. Not wanting to have any kind of obstacles for their children. Millennials deserve the shit they get because they are being the whinny early thirties. Older generation Zs look a lot like millenials. But the majority of gen Zers see the absolute bullshit going on. And fucking hate seeing people censor others. That's why statistically gen Z is going to be the largest conservative demographic since the baby boomers.

    • LMAO, most conservative demographic since the baby boomers? Did your little alt-right 4chan friends tell you that?

Gen Z here, the latest of Gen Z kids are turning 18 and 19. Sure, you might not agree with their political opinion and think it’s actually cancer, but they’re still entitled to their own. Everyone has different political views based on morals, experience, and the peers around them. If you meet a Gen Z kid and don’t agree with their idiotic fuckwad views, then debate. I think this portrayal you’re giving the entire gen z population is irrational though 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh god, really? Now millennials are complaining about the younger generation? Kill me! There’s no differences aside from the fact that time itself and the world changes. So fucking tired of people complaining about generations it’s laughable, I can’t even wrap my head around the fact that some people actually believe people are a certain way just because of the time they were born. Can’t tell you how many times my parents blamed their problems on millenials, I could never take it seriously. Would just cringe super hard and wonder how their logic is so warped. Bottom line, if you’re generalizing a group of people over something that literally wasn’t even a choice of theirs, go fuck yourself and find a better thing to complain about

    • It is undeniable that there differences in how people are based on the year they were born based on the technology and culture at a period of time. Are you going to tell me people who grew up in the 60's lived the same kind of existence as someone born in 2019? Not even close...

No that’s not what I mean at all. Note that I said time and the world changes. What I’m saying is everybody blames the younger generation, everybody hates the younger new group. That’s what never changes. Everybody thinks they grew up in a harder time than them and that they’re wiser and whatever else. You’re saying people from gen z act like they’re special when they’re not, but you’re basically putting yourself on a pedestal saying you’re special by trying to act like you’re any better than them. It’s ironic

that's something that has always bugged me to but I brushed it off as other generation's scapegoating but I have realized that millennials are literally blamed for everything. its no different then before with older generations blaming younger ones but the internet seems to be a big amplifier.

Millenials just want an easy ride and to not want to play the game. If you can finish all your work in the office in an hour good. Dont complain to the company about it because then you are just asking to get your hours slashed. Play the game ascend the ladder die of stress when you are 60.

EVERY person and generation wants an easy ride.
EVERYone says, "Our generation knew the value of hard work".
Buuuulllllshit. I remember in the 80's when one big motto was, "hard work never killed anyone but I am not taking any chances".

        Comment Hidden ( show )
      • Get your hours slashed? You clearly don't have any experience in the workplace. If I'm sitting idly I'm not going anywhere fucking around at my desk. I offer my bosses help and they give me new responsibilities and it helps with pay raises and moving up.

You might be onto something. Still millennials are fucked up too. Many of my highschool friends still live with mommy and daddy in their late 20s. Always an excuse about the housing market or something.

I'm 24 and haven't lived at home since I was 18. Don't own a home though ...but you gotta admit the housing market is a little f*cked... well at least where I am.

Its pretty bad in Nashville. I found a house for 160 tho it was hard but did it. Mortgage is about 1,000 a month. I rented before that tho. Renting is more affordable but you have to live around shitty ppl.

        Comment Hidden ( show )
      • Yes, I agree. Renting is enough of a burden now, I cannot imagine taking out a mortgage on a home unless you were earning 6 figures.

Just downgrade your housing expectations, put a down payment and have a mortgage for 25-30 years. You can sell your house later to pay off the mortgage. Yes you should have a pretty situation to get a house like having a family to move in. If you are just a couple or single the apartment or condo placement is a good idea.

I'm 21 and getting out of the millitary to live with mom and pops. I FUCKING HATE TO ADMIT THAT IM GOING TO DO IT. So I'm going to use that absolute disgust to power my way through college and get my own damn place. I will NOT live with my parents in my later 20s. (They will probably kick me out by then because they are good people)
If I fuck up that's because i fucked up. I'll own that shit.

I don't blame you for wanting out of the military though. Sometimes you've got to just accept the help. I hate accepting handouts from my parents too but there are times when you just have to.

Yeah it's pretty 50/50. 50% is getting emotional about it (the half that isnt in control) and the logical 50% is relieved that I dont have to be another homeless veteran.
