I hate going to the bathroom, but that's about as far as it goes.
I agree to an extent but, unlike you, I don't think less of people that live for their urges. They're living their lives the way they want to live it, I don't really have a reason to care.
I really believe that not everyone needs to contribute to societal "progress". Some people are naturally into it. For everyone else, they should just do what makes them happy. Science may not advance as fast as you would like, but trying to speed it up by getting (or forcing) everyone into being inventors and physicists wouldn't end well.
