I don't see how it's ungrateful to not want something. Perhaps you have the mindset that because they have what you want that they should be grateful (?). If so that's a bit biased and skewed as it's not suited to impose what you appreciate onto others.
Giving you the benefit of the doubt that you genuinely know these women enough and their life story to conclude that motherhood wasn't forced on them (which it is for many gals) just because motherhood wasn't forced on them doesn't mean they can't regret/resent/hate the decision they made.
