I hate being labeled 'cisgender'

It's meaningless and meant to make transgender people feel like they're normal. They're not.

I fully agree. It's just a bad way of saying "normal."

If you hate it, then quit perpetuating its use by posting about it. It’s a useless term, anyway. Just ignore it.

"Women born Women" used to be used in the Women's Movement in Australia while ago and may still be used for all I know. It was coined to try and exclude M2F trangendered people from women only events. At least (unlike cisgender) it says what it means, and one could also use the term "Man born Man" but it is a bit of a mouthful.

Cisgender is a made up word as far as I know and whoever made it up should've come up with something which says what it means rather than being so vague as to be meaningless. What on earth does "cis" mean anyway? Anyone know its derivation?

I would never describe myself as cisgender, although others might given I'm a woman and was born that way, and I wouldn't use the term about anyone else either. Maybe I'm oldfashioned, but to me a woman is a woman, a man is a man and a transgender person is a transgender person. That's enough categories for me to deal with.

Cisgender has its origin in the Latin-derived prefix cis-, meaning "on this side of", which means the opposite of trans-, meaning "across from" or "on the other side of". This usage can be seen in the cis–trans distinction in chemistry, the cis–trans or complementation test in genetics [...] source: Wikipedia

I agree, "cis gender" is annoying. Call me genetic gender or just normal. I've got intrusive thought ocd, and I don't call people who haven't got if flobs, I just call them normal.

...What? No one uses it because it's not a real word. you guys should get off reddit and enjoy reality once in awhile. It's not as bad as they tell you online.

Cis isn't a label. Wow this is dumb, we use the term cis in the conversations we need to differentiate that the person isn't trans. You know just stating cis is much easier tgan saying or typing not a trans person or it's like every time.

I'm sorry :(((. You hate being labeled as something against your will? :((((( kinda like how transgender and queer people are and how blacks people are labeled as thiefs and Middle Eastern people as terrorists. :(((((( Sorry though, hope you'll be okay :(((

Aside the word "transgender", most of these weird labels for gender status really don't get used in real life. You might THINK so because some dipshits have taken to using online jargon in the real world (such as "LOL") but the strange gender labels - I haven't seen it. I just get called "she" by most people.

Transgenders might call females "Genetic females" or maybe "born females". Gay men sometimes call born females "fish".

No one really knows or cares what kinds of words genetic males use because they don't really matter all that much.
