before I had my kids, i didn't hate children exactly but I wasn't interested and babies just annoyed me! but then when I had my own I completely changed. Fact is I never had a maternal instinct before then, I think because I never had to. so I would say don't worry yourself. it's hard for alot of people to identify (even with friends with kids) with children till you have your own.
