I hardly ever laugh at things everyone else seems to think is funny

Sure I'll laugh at a clever pun or someone speaking in a silly voice. It had just so happened to strike me funny. HOWEVER, my kind of humor is not mindless South Park or Family Guy, it's dry British humor (Faulty Towers!) or morbid jokes. Because it's smart or had at least some thought put into it. Dark jokes that I laugh at, people who watch South Park wouldn't (generally). If it was terribly clever, I appreciate it and think it's funny. I don't laugh at dead baby jokes though, even if I can smirk at the horrible humor.

i totally understand. I have a cynical and dark sorta humor so i ostracize myself when i laugh at morbid shit that makes everyone else gasp. i can't understand mainstream humor or appreciate it enough so i just keep laughing at the same witty dark stuff and fuck the rest.

same i like to watch comedies but they rarely make me laugh out loud, i just think in my mind ''that was clever/ a good joke'' unless i'm watching with a person, i laugh with them so it doesn't seem awkward. I laugh super hard at a lot of weird shit that everyone else says is bad tho.

You know what? I know exactly what you mean and it's called actually knowing what is witty/comedic and which is not. Intended jokes like the ones you're talking about usually really aren't that funny, and usually like substance and wit. You just know what is truly funny and what is not. I'm the same way. I BARELY ever laugh at the intended punch line, but yet, I laugh at some of the most random things!

I don't know if it's normal but I'm the same. Half the things that are popular (south park, family guy etc) hardly make me crack a smile even though I can see the humor in it.
