Because due to the ancestral alien species that led up to the Einians' existence, the Volcanic Einians evolved to only seek out the flesh of their own kind. This is due to the large food shortages their ancestors experienced. Because the Tundra Einians' very large population, the Volcanic Einians can easily seek out food. That's also why Tundra Einians have so many offspring at once: because only half will reach adulthood as the young of the Tundra Einians is the most sought after (but the Volcanic Einians also like eating the adults).
