  • Stress might be a cause of anxiety, but it's not the only one. It could also be cause by a past experience .In your case, and for me as well, you could be fearing to live the experience that you had with that weed again, now that you know that your body can feel like that.

It could be many things, and the sooner you find out what it is, the earlier you will be able to find a way to calm you down faster.

A very useful tactic for me (recommended by my counselor) is to treat anxiety as an external thing. It will try and make you obey it by changing the way you think. It tries to put unreasonable thoughts in your mind and you believe they are real (believe that you will die, that it will never go, that you will go crazy). And it will also generate physical reactions to try and make you obey (shaking, feeling ants inside you like when your leg is asleep, heartbeat, sweat, etc...). You can take it as a challenge, just say 'bring it on' and do your best to not let it believe the bullshit that goes through your mind. It will ALWAYS go and you will feel much better.

When i am under a big anxiety attack, sometimes i just go to the bathroom and lock the door. Lay down and look up to the ceiling and just breathe. Close your eyes and take ur time. I look myself at the mirror and say 'you can do it!' And it might sound silly but it helps a lot.

Finally, it does feel like noone understands, because it would look really weird for someone to start shaking in the middle of the bus or freaking out right, but a lot of people have anxiety.

Try to not think too much about it and you will see that the more you learn to fight it, the less you will have it.

Good luck and feel free to ask any questions :).

    • I will try that. Its crazy that I can feel this way. Never thought it would happen. I really feel like I'm going to go off the deep end sometimes, then other times I feel like I'm fine but its always in the back of my mind. How do you calm your brain? Mine is always racing

      • First of all, I am lucky i have a girl I could tell this to, and she used to help me out when i needed it. If you can tell a close friend about your problem, I'm sure you'll get some support than can be very helpful. Don't feel like a freak for asking that.

Going outside and take deep breathes helped me out a lot. It would always go after a while.

If i was alone, I would think that it doesnt matter what i do, I can't let it change my life. Or think that when im calm the next day, I will see it much more clear.

Breathing slowly (it is important to not breathe too fast when u are scared, because it can make u a lil dizzy, breathing slow helps you relax and ur nerves to calm down) helps a lot.

I remember the first time it happened to me. I asked my friend to call an ambulance. The guy looked at me and said: "Close your eyes, breathe in and out for 1 minute, and if you stilll want to , when you open your eyes i will call an ambulance". That shit was incredibely helpful. I did not want an ambulance after that :p. It will feel like ups and downs when you have it, but remember that it is NEVER permanent. it always goes.

And the more you learn how to calm yourself, the less you will feel like this. (it's hard to believe that, but it is a fact)
