I had an engineer on one of the freighters I used to Run. He was a black man from Guyana, had a habit of not washing his hands before he came to the bridge to report and log the hold temperatures (obviously, it was a refer ship). The first watch at sea he put his big hand right in the middle of the chart and left a perfect hand print. Forever after, he was known throughout the Caribbean as the only black man who's black was coming off. Everybody, including blacks and especially my engineer, laughed uproariously whenever the story was told. There are people of color with a great sense of humor and they can tell if there is any unkindness meant.
This guy is way over sensitive if indeed, there was no unkindness meant.
