Somebody commented about you having a small penis. I think they were close. Whatever your penis size, I think this urge to hit women might have something to do with regaining power you feel you've lost, or asserting your right to exist. Either way, maybe you FEEL like a small penis, and you have to remind women how big you are, even if only to prove it to yourself.
Just remember, however it makes you
FEEL, you will still be the same guy if you have a go at her. You will still have all the same strengths and shortcomings. You will not actually improve. Except for the addition of one fact: you will have to live with having abused a person. And I think it's important to consider how powerful, if subtle, an impact that will forever have on you.
